Arrival — Colombo
Explore Colombo's historic quarter — the Lotus Tower, Pettah Bazaar shopping, and the Gangaramaya Temple.
Colombo → Pinnawala → Sigiriya
Visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage to see the herd bathe and feed, then continue to Sigiriya.
Sigiriya → Minneriya
A safari at Minneriya National Park, one of the best places in Sri Lanka to see wild elephant herds.
Sigiriya → Kandy
Climb Sigiriya rock fortress before the drive to Kandy.
Kandy → Nuwara Eliya
Visit the Temple of the Tooth, then drive up through tea plantations to Nuwara Eliya.
Nuwara Eliya → Weligama
Head to the south coast for the beaches around Weligama.
Weligama
A full day at leisure on the south coast — swim, surf, or explore nearby Galle Fort.

Is the Pinnawala elephant visit ethical?
It's a government-run orphanage rather than a private tourist attraction, focused on rescued and orphaned elephants; we're happy to talk through what to expect if it's a concern.
Why does a “cultural” tour end at a beach town?
Weligama gives the trip a relaxed close after several culture- and temple-heavy days — a change of pace rather than another packed itinerary day.
Can Galle be added during the Weligama days?
Yes, it's a short drive away and commonly added as a half-day during the Weligama stop.
