Bundala was designated as the country's fourth biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 2005, highlighting its ecological significance. Following our time at Bundala, we venture deeper into the heart of Sri Lanka's natural wonders with a visit to Sinharaja National Park. Spanning a vast 18,000 acres, Sinharaja is the island's last remaining tropical rainforest and holds the distinction of being its most crucial forest reserve. As the oldest reserve in Sri Lanka, Sinharaja is teeming with rare species of plants and animals, encompassing over 50% of the country's species of insects, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals.
