About Arugam Bay
Arugam Bay is Sri Lanka's best-known surf town, built around a long right-hand point break that draws surfers from well beyond the island during the April-to-October season. Even outside surf season it keeps a relaxed, low-key beach-town character that's a change of pace from the more built-up south coast.
The surrounding area has its own draws too — Kumana National Park is nearby, and lagoons around the bay are good for birdwatching between sessions in the water.
